Meet Casey Armstrong, a Flockjay Tech Fellow from our eighth class and current SDR for hire. He shared a few details about his journey with us below. His sales trainers had this to share:

What did life look like before you found Flockjay?
The pandemic took everything from me. I had a fantastic career in Live Entertainment and my future was very bright. I was personally requested by countless events and production companies. Turning down clients left and right due to being already booked. I have now been out of work since March 2020. I was in a pit of depression I could not shake. I was running out of unemployment and was losing hope.
Flockjay turned my life around. It gave me hope. It gave me a purpose in such a lost and disrupted year of my life. I now have options. I now have hope for a new career which has endless growth and opportunity. I now have an opportunity to possibly work at some pretty big-name tech companies and the interviews keep rolling in. Since graduating I have had a packed schedule of interview after interview trying to find the perfect company to work for and the best software to sell!
It was as if I did 10 weeks of discovery of myself with the most encouraging people I have ever been blessed to be around. I would have never been able to get out of that pit of despair if it was not for Draxton Amador having me take the leap and committing to the program together. Checking on my progress the whole way and keeping me focused on our end goal of one day being able to be on the same sales team together like the before times. <3
What past accomplishments are you proud of?
Flockjay gave me the tools to get back out into the workforce. They gave me the strength to hit the ground running and be ready for anything my new career had to throw at me! I am now in the final stage of interviewing with three dream companies and I have my fingers crossed that all three send me offers.
What excites you most about a future SDR role?
I am most excited about being around like-minded people that are very outgoing and as positive as me. Being able to land my first demo call! Then one day being the AE and is giving the live demos that close the deal!
Advice for someone who wants to break into tech?
Do not wait. Your future is knocking on the door. All you have to do is open the door and embrace your newfound life!
